Make Me a Baker Graduation, Sunday 6th December 2015

On the 6th of December, the inaugural Make Me a Baker group celebrated the end of their 6-month program with a magnificent graduation to show off their new baking skills to friends and family. The graduates each chose a recipe that they were too afraid to try and could never have imagined baking 6 months ago. What they achieved was brilliant baking success!

Congratulations to: Amy Sharma, Annette Irwin, Elena Dailly, Elizabeth Peadon, Irene Stinson, Kim Goodworth, Rayann Bekdache & Rosie Knight-Gregson.  Sadly Fiona McLean was unable to join in the celebrations, and we missed her!

Private Perfect Pastry BakeClass, Thursday 3rd September 2015

The 'Stitch 'n Bitch' group have been meeting for over 12 years every Thursday to sew together. On Thursday 3rd September, 2015 they swapped their needle and thread for bowls, scales and tart tins and spent the morning in the BakeClub Kitchen perfecting their pastry-making techniques and creating a a collecting of divine pastry-encased creations!

Clever Entertaining, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August 2015

Entertaining doesn’t need to be stressful (or time-consuming!) as discovered by the students during these three-and-a-half hour Private BakeClasses. They picked up impressive fail-safe recipes (such as Caramelised onion & blue cheese flatbread, a stunning Baked side of salmon with herb crust & lime mayonnaise and a Rhubarb sour cream crumble cake), do-ahead tricks and invaluable confidence and know-how to ensure that entertaining will always be stress-free from now on.

Make Me A Baker Graduation, Sunday 16th October 2016

On Sunday, 16th October 2016, the Make Me a Baker May-October 2016 students celebrated their graduation with a lovely afternoon tea for family & friends!  We are so proud of each and every one of them - how far they have all come in the past 6 months.  The group baked for friends and family, showing off their new baking skills with a spread of beautiful cakes, pastries and delicious tarts.  Each graduate chose a recipe that they were too afraid to try 6 months ago and could never have imagined ever baking.  What they achieved was brilliant baking success!

Kids in the Kitchen Long Table Lunch, Sunday 12th October 2014

I had such a fabulous time co-hosting a Kids in the Kitchen Long Table Lunch as part of the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month. Together with Rowie Dillion of Rowie’s Cakes, Saskia Beer of Barossa Farm Produce, Ann Marie Cummins of the food dept., and an awesome bunch of 7- to 12-year-olds, we baked, decorated, cooked and created a fabulous lunch. Many thanks again to our wonderful supporters – WiltshireSmegKitchenAid and Woolworths. We couldn’t have created such a wonderful event without you! The whole event was beautifully captured by the very talented photographer Dominique Cherry – here’s a snapshot of the fun we got up to!

No Time to BakeClass, Sunday 14th September 2014

Another group of enthusiastic home cooks came together to be introduced to a collection of delicious no-fuss, one-bowl mixes that require only basic equipment, store-cupboard ingredients and less than 15 minutes to get them into the oven!

From Quick-Mix Almond Shortbread to Chilli & Cheddar Cornbread and an Orange Cake 'in a food processor' everybody left this class with an invaluable collection of recipes that will ensure they are ready and able to bake for any occasion – even when they don't have time to bake!
